A new sculpture, "AlHaram Plant," by Qatari artist Moudi Al Hajri, recently bloomed on the Corniche Underpass in celebration of World Environment Day. This collaborative effort between the City Beautification Projects Implementation Team and Qatar Museums aims to enrich visitors' experiences by connecting them to Qatar's environment. The 5-meter square, stainless steel sculpture, mirroring the colors of the Qatari flag, depicts a local succulent plant. Moudi artistically captured the plant's unique beauty with spherical branches of various sizes, highlighting Qatar's diverse flora. Both Eng. Muhammad Arqoub Al-Khalidi, Team Head for City Beautification Projects, and Abdul Rahman Al Ishaq, Director of Art at Qatar Museums, expressed their excitement about supporting local artists, environmental awareness, and the transformation of public spaces into art galleries. Al Hajri herself is proud of this milestone in her career, citing the "AlHaram Plant's" resilience as inspiration for her creation. This sculpture joins hundreds of public artworks in Qatar, solidifying the country's goal of turning public spaces into an open-air museum for all.
