In honor of the late Qatari artist Dr. Wafa Al-Hamad, "Dream at the bottom of the ocean" mural were unveiled in Katara Cultural Village. Dr. Wafa Al-Hamad was the first Qatari University professor to work in the Department of Art Education. She is considered one of the most famous contemporary artists in Qatar. Having discovered her talent at an early age, she pursued formal art education, earning a Bachelor's in Art Education from Qatar University, a Master's in Studio Art from Eastern Michigan University, and a PhD from the University of North Texas. Her artistic journey featured significant exhibitions in both Rome and Qatar, along with participation in various art forums and the Asian Artists Exhibition during the Doha Asian Games. In her later years, she dedicated herself to academia, serving as an associate professor at Qatar University, where she began her own artistic journey.
