Qatar Visa Center: A Comprehensive Guide

The Qatar Visa Center is your first stop in your journey to Qatar. Operated under the Ministry of Interior (MoI), QVC assists the work visa applicants to complete the essential parts of the visa application process, by providing Biometric and Medical services. Qatar Visa Center operates 14 centers across 6 countries, including India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, and the Philippines. There are ongoing efforts to set up new Qatar Visa Centres (QVCs) in Kenya, Indonesia, and Tunisia.

Services Offered at the Qatar Visa Center

Facial Image Capture and Biometric Enrollment: Your photo and fingerprints are collected for identity verification.

Medical Examination: This includes X-rays, blood tests, eye exams, and general health checks.

Additional Services: Attestation and contract signing are also available.

Booking Your Appointment

To book your appointment, visit www.qatarvisacenter.com and go to “Book Appointment” section. After selecting a convenient date and time, you will receive your appointment letter which includes, details about your visit, including the QVC address, any applicable fees, and specific guidelines. While walk-ins are allowed, it’s highly recommended to book in advance to avoid long waits, particularly since slots are limited and vary by location.

Once your appointment is confirmed, it cannot be canceled. However, you can reschedule your appointment up to five times. To reschedule, go to the "Manage Appointment" section on the Qatar Visa Center website at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time. You will need your Visa Reference Number to make any changes. If you need to reschedule more than five times, you will have to visit the Qatar Visa Center in person and book a "Lounge" appointment. Family and group bookings can be made online through the “Group Booking” option, making it more convenient for those visiting together.

What to Bring for Your Appointment

• A printout of your appointment letter
• Your passport valid for at least 195 days
• Certified copies of your academic qualifications, along with the originals for verification
• Any previous Qatar ID (if applicable) or medical documentation (if any done in Qatar)

Biometric Information

Individuals who are applying for a visa for employment or residence in Qatar need to provide their biometric information at the Qatar Visa Center. There are a few exceptions: children under 6, individuals over 80, and diplomatic passport holders (with pre-approval) do not need to submit biometric data. When visiting the Qatar Visa Center, ensure that your palms and fingers are clear of any fresh wounds, color marks, henna decorations, or other similar markings. If you have any of these on your hands, it’s advisable to reschedule your appointment until your hands are completely healed or cleared. If you have permanent scars or damage on your palms or fingers, please notify our Service Officer upon your arrival at the center.

Medical Examination

After your biometric appointment, you’ll undergo a medical examination. This typically occurs one hour after your biometric session and includes:

General Examinations: Medical history, physical exam, vision testing, and recording of height, weight, and blood pressure.

X-ray Test: Chest X-ray from a posteroanterior view.

Lab Tests: HIV, Hepatitis B & C, Syphilis, blood sugar levels, and pregnancy tests for women.

Female applicant can request female doctor for the Medical examination at the Medical center reception. Before medical examination, you must present your valid passport along with a filled health declaration form and signed consent form at Medical Centre reception. Please do not wear any metallic items or jewelry during the test. Only the applicant is allowed inside the Qatar Visa Center, unless they are a minor or disabled, in which case they can have someone accompany them. Also, remember to bring your prescription glasses or contact lenses if you need them, any specialist reports about your medical condition, and previous TB treatment records if relevant.

The medical examination will take approximately two hours, and you should receive your results through SMS within 72 hours. If additional tests are necessary, QVC will get in touch with you. Please remember that if you don’t travel to Qatar within 60 days of your medical test, you will need to restart the process.

Checking Your Visa Medical Status

QVC directly submits your medical results to the Qatar authorities, and it usually takes 10 to 15 business days to receive a fit or unfit status. However, in some cases, additional investigations may be required, which can extend the time it takes to declare results. To track your visa application progress, visit the Track Application or Status Check section on the QVC website.

If your visa application status shows “under process” for longer than the expected processing time, you can contact QVC customer service for support. They will be able to provide you with updates on your application status and suggest what to do next. Keep in mind that the Qatar Visa Center and the Qatar Medical Center are not involved in the visa application decisions.
