Doha Design District Invites Public Art Proposals, Apply by May 14

Doha Design District (DDD) has announced an exciting Public Art Open Call, inviting artists, designers, and creative professionals to submit innovative proposals that will shape the visual identity of Doha. The initiative aims to integrate public art into everyday urban life, enhancing the district’s atmosphere while strengthening its role as a vibrant cultural destination. DDD Director Dana Kazic emphasized the transformative power of public art in building meaningful connections between people and spaces, highlighting the district’s commitment to fostering artistic innovation and positioning Doha as a globally connected creative hub. Submissions are open until May 14, welcoming a diverse range of participants including urban designers, architects, landscape architects, artists, and interdisciplinary collectives. Emerging talents and students can also apply with mentor or institutional support. Proposals can span multiple categories such as sculptural landmarks, interactive installations, community-focused spaces, and murals. All entries must be submitted digitally through the Doha Design District website in English or Arabic, including a visual presentation and a detailed concept (up to 1,000 words) covering sustainability, material use, and spatial adaptability—ensuring impactful and future-ready public art solutions.
