Qatar Museums has announced the inaugural of its Qatar Pavilion at the 15th Gwangju Biennale in South Korea. Qatar is the only Arab country to have its own pavilion at this well-known international art event. The National Museum of Qatar is in charge of the Qatar Pavilion, which will open with a show called "Knock, Rain Knock." This first exhibit will look at how important rain is in Qatari culture. It will show new works from seven Qatari and Qatar-based artists. People can visit the Qatar Pavilion from September 7th to December 1st, 2024, at the Kwangju Bank Art Hall. The main idea of the exhibit is about "Salat al istisqaa," an old prayer done to ask for rain when there's not enough. The art on display will also look at other ideas like Arab and Islamic identity, what water means, and shared experiences in public places.
