The Ministry of Municipality in Qatar launched its new strategy for 2024-2030, focusing on improving the quality of life for residents and fostering sustainable development. Here are the key points:
Three Main Pillars:
Excellence in Services & Digital Transformation: This includes digitizing over 400 services, using AI for faster service delivery (e.g., building permits), and implementing a national GIS program for cost reduction and data accessibility.
Enhancing Food Security: The Ministry aims to achieve this through efficient resource management, stringent food safety standards, and the Integrated National Solid Waste Program (involving a new landfill, waste separation, and increased recycling).
Improving Quality of Life & Humanizing Cities: This involves increasing green spaces, parks, and public facilities, collaborating with the private sector for park management, cleaning, and waste-to-energy conversion, and developing citizens' land plots.
Additional Initiatives:
All sectors will strive for European Forum for Quality Management (EFQM) certifications for high-quality service delivery.
Focus on upskilling the national workforce through ideal work environments and workforce planning.
Launch of the Himma app for performance evaluation and monitoring.
This strategy aligns with Qatar's National Vision 2030, aiming to create a more sustainable, innovative, and high-quality living environment for all.
